Japanese swordfighting

I've started uploading some of the videos recorded on Sep 8th this year. The camera was handheld here so it's a little shaky but not too much. I had to brighten the video in software since the shade really made things look dark. So far tonight I've only uploaded 6 videos but there are more to come.

Shihan does a nice kihon-toho on three goza. In fact the goza even stay for a half-second on the kesa. There's one of mine with the complete tsubamegaesh which has the nikutsuke-kesagiri at the beginning and then a suihei at the end.

I also uploaded one part of the video which shows how to not do a suihei. Because of the position of the camera, you might not see this entirely, so I slowed it down a little. What happens is that I did not stretch my arms out fully for the suihei, which means that my hands actually start passing the goza before the blade edge hits the target. You can muscle your way through the goza to cut improperly like this but usually what happens is that it either gets stuck, or the goza flys off. Even if this had worked, it's a poor form for suihei.

I'll keep working on creating the rest of the videos and then upload them in the next week. Still on the tape are clips of Travis, Ali, Micah, and Brian. There are also more clips of Shihan and I trying multiple goza.
